Free event to give Tehama residents a LIFT
For the past 30 years, we have been holding an event called Recycle The Warmth.
We are now part of LIFT Tehama!
A one-day empowerment event connecting people in need.
Once again, LIFT Tehama (Live Inspired For Tomorrow) will take place (rain or shine), 9 a.m., to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at the Tehama District Fairgrounds. Lunch will be served beginning at 11 a.m.
Recycle The Warmth is teaming up with Project Homeless Connect, Health and Medical providers, along with several other great services and agencies to reach out to anyone in need in Tehama County - we call it LIFT Tehama!
LIFT Tehama will be offering vital services such as DMV IDs, Birth certificates, Social Security help, Veterans needs, housing and social services as well legal help, notary, banking, pet care, haircuts and a host of other vital and necessary services.
Again this year will be a vision center that will offer eye checks with a limited number of glasses created onsite. The medical area will include immunizations and breast exams and wound care. Dental checks will also be available, along with Mental Health services.
In order to accomplish this we are collecting blankets and warm clothing as usual, along with basic items such as socks, towels and backpacks, hygiene products and eye glasses. Donated items can be brought to the Red Bluff Daily News, 545 Diamond Ave., Red Bluff, CA
TRAX will be offering free transportation during this event to anyone wishing to attend.
The need for volunteers is great, if you would like to be a part of LIFT in any capacity, or for more information please contact us.
LIFT Tehama will be incorporating the principals of Project Homeless Connect:
Not business as usual, no waiting in line, hospitality from the whole community, immediate access to services. Not just a day for people to gather information or get referrals, but a day for people to make changes, and get connected to essential services working towards self-sufficiency.
